I’ve taken a lot of ribbing from some of the guys in my astronomy club for buying a Seestar S50. I have absolutely no regrets about recommending this scope to anyone interested in astronomy.
First off, the Seestar is very simple to use. You install an app on your phone, take it out of the box and screw it to the tripod and take it outside and put it on a level surface. Then power it on, and follow the audio directions.
Once the app is launched you can open the arms and begin to look at objects. I installed the solar filter (included) on it and started with the sun.
This little rig is really cool and it has come a long way since its release date. It now has some noise reduction built in and can shoot mosaics as well. You can use it to take pictures of the Messier objects, the moon, even the planets. It is so incredibly easy to use that anyone can do it.
I do recommend this product to newbies to the hobby and for those who enjoy new things and are old timers, it still has a lot of fans among us as well.
